Keeping Your Tub Clean and Bubbly!

Regular maintenance is essential for healthy, clean hot tub water. It's crucial to have the correct chemicals, change filters, and be aware of the expected repair time for technicians - if you think there is an issue.

By consistently completing these maintenance tasks and following a weekly schedule, you can ensure a hygienic, secure, and soothing hot tub experience that will last for many years.

Hot tub maintenance – Ensure water purity

Water Chemistry:

  1. Testing: It is crucial to test the water consistently for pH, alkalinity, and sanitiser levels (chlorine, bromine, etc.). This step is essential for maintaining clean water.

  2. Chemical Balance: Maintain proper water chemistry levels to safeguard the tub from harm and provide a safe soaking experience. Exercise caution when adding chemicals to avoid disrupting the hot tub's balance with excessive amounts.

  3. Sanitising:

    • Regularly adding sanitisers is essential to maintain clean water free from harmful bacteria and algae. By keeping the water clean and healthy, you are effectively prolonging the lifespan of your hot tub.

    • Periodically shock the water to degrade organic contaminants.

Cleaning all surfaces is essential for maintaining a hot tub

Keeping the components clean is another crucial part of hot tub upkeep, as they are vital for optimal performance. There is no need to worry about anything significant; basic cleaning involves the following steps:

  1. Cleaning:

    • Filters: Make sure to clean or change the filters on a regular basis, usually every 1-2 weeks. Cleaning them is a breeze with a quick rinse with water, and replacing them is very easy.

    • Surface: Clean the tub surfaces regularly to avoid the accumulation of scum and dirt. You don't need harsh chemicals for this task.

    • Draining and Refilling: It is advisable to completely empty and refill the hot tub every 3-4 months, or as instructed by the manufacturer. You might have to replace the water more frequently, particularly when using well water for filling.

  2. Hot Tub Cover Maintenance:

    • To avoid damage from UV rays and moisture, make sure to clean and condition the hot tub cover, especially if it is leather.

The Wellis Blactex cover should only be washed when extremely dirty, whereas the leather requires regular care.

    • Make sure the cover is in good shape to preserve energy efficiency and prevent debris from entering the hot tub.
